Archdiocese of Portland Office of Vocations
Quo Vadis Days is a 3-day camp for young Catholic men to learn more about the priesthood, to deepen their faith, and to better discern God’s call in their lives. “Quo Vadis” is the Latin phrase for “Where are you going?”
Every women and man has a vocation – that is, a calling – and we are each called to listen carefully to where and whom God is calling us to be. Sometimes this is difficult in our noisy world. Our vocation committee and the Salem area Serra Club are involved in bringing various opportunities to the area to assist in this process and are committed to raising awareness, support and openness to discerning our vocations. The Archdiocesan Pastoral Center also has a vocation’s director who can be of great assistance in this as well, in particular when discerning if God may be calling you to the consecrated life as a member of a religious order or as a Priest or permanent Deacon.
Vocation Prayer
Dear Father,
Shine your light upon me so that I may see my true vocation. Give me the grace to hear your word and be an example to others of your love for us.
I pray for all in Priesthood, Consecrated life, Marriage and Single life, and for all who are listening to your call, that they may answer you in their vocation.
Thank you for sending your son Jesus – Lord of the Harvest – help me to follow His example. May I freely, courageously and lovingly respond.
Amen.
